IT informa supports DevOps modernisation at major international retailer
When the development environment lags behind the production demands of a large organisation, the cost shows up in release cycles, manual overhead and fragile deployments.
IT informa’s Martin Eriksson has been working with a major international retailer since 2016, supporting the modernisation of development tooling and CI/CD capabilities across a legacy system landscape. Legacy tools have been replaced with Git, Jira, Confluence and Artifactory. CI/CD pipelines have been established using Jenkins and GitHub Actions across OpenShift, Azure and Google Cloud.
The assignment included a full migration from OpenVMS and RDB to Linux and PostgreSQL. The migration was delivered ahead of plan. Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Ansible Tower has brought consistency and repeatability to processes that previously relied on manual handling.
Martin Eriksson continues in the assignment as DevOps Engineer and Solution Architect.
