Competence areas
Background
Most recently as a consultant, Magnus served as Operations Project Manager and deputy programme manager on an initiative at a major international retailer, a global customs and trade programme that ranks among the organisation’s most complex and strategically significant undertakings. He coordinated two major external suppliers, three internal suppliers and three scrum teams operating across both agile and waterfall frameworks, ensuring alignment between technical delivery and steering group expectations. The programme introduced a new global customs solution with direct impact on pricing, product range and profitability across the retailer’s markets.
Before moving into consulting, Magnus spent five years as head of a technical department at a major defence contractor, building the department from 22 to 60 employees comprising senior project managers and engineering specialists. He introduced management processes, identified and developed new section managers as the team grew, and clarified responsibilities between line and project management. When a major PLM initiative stalled, he stepped in as project manager, restored structure and stakeholder alignment, and defined a long-term roadmap that enabled the IT organisation to resume ownership with renewed direction.
During a long engagement with a regional public healthcare authority, Magnus worked across a wide range of complex IT and digitalisation projects, often assigned to initiatives requiring stabilisation or recovery. He led the regional rollout of a mission-critical information system for ambulance operations, covering navigation, digital medical records and administrative workflows across all ambulances and departments in the region. In a later engagement with the same organisation’s university hospital, he led two AI proof-of-concept initiatives within radiology workflows, establishing a structured foundation for future large-scale AI implementation in clinical diagnostics.
