Background

At a major international retailer, Magnus worked as a senior Android developer on the company’s shopping application. He designed and built a live shopping experience enabling customers to watch live shows and purchase products directly from the stream, with real-time chat, third-party library integration and secure token exchange, as well as version and OS compatibility controls to ensure platform stability.

At a major mobile device manufacturer, he served as developer and stand-in architect for the company’s flagship Android image gallery application, downloaded more than 100 million times worldwide. He was responsible for architectural decisions, code quality and code reviews, built client-side integrations with social image services, designed an in-house image caching solution and contributed to a custom OpenGL-based 3D rendering engine. The application consistently outperformed the default Android photo application in speed and memory efficiency.

He also worked on Android banking applications for a major Nordic bank across multiple markets, including Sweden, Finland and the UK, using a shared codebase of approximately ten libraries. His work covered customer-facing functionality including login solutions supporting multiple authentication methods, corporate loan features and BankID integration, enabling customers to complete banking tasks without visiting a branch.
