Background

For more than ten years, Daniel worked with a manufacturer of products for network video and security surveillance, as an architect and developer across several successive assignments. The longest engagement focused on building a unified API to manage all product-related information across the company’s offering, using Java EE as the backend and AngularJS as the client, serving the company’s external website and mobile applications. Daniel was responsible for backend architecture, Active Directory integration and the continuous integration environment.

Between 2010 and 2013, Daniel worked across several assignments at a global manufacturer of food processing and packaging solutions, on a business-critical Java/JEE production system. The work included building an integration between the production system and an external quality measurement system for printed materials, SAP integration, refactoring core platform components and a feasibility study on system consolidation for a specialised pilot plant environment.

Between March and October 2012, Daniel designed and built a planning and operations system for a European public transport operator, covering traffic management via a web interface for operations staff and an onboard mobile interface for drivers and conductors on tablets. He was responsible for logical and physical architecture, continuous integration and integrations with personnel management and timetabling systems.
