IT informa delivers anti-theft security features for major manufacturer of mobility technology
An eBike represents a significant investment. For owners to leave their bike parked with confidence, the app that controls it needs lock and alarm functionality that works reliably, backed by real-time tracking.
IT informa’s Magnus Borgström worked as Developer/Designer at a major manufacturer of mobility technology from June 2023, as part of the team responsible for the anti-theft and safety features of the company’s eBike companion app. The app gives riders access to navigation, ride statistics, bike configuration and firmware updates across all eBikes equipped with the manufacturer’s components. Magnus played a central role in designing and delivering the motor lock and alarm features, including real-time tracking, that allow owners to secure and monitor their bike remotely.
Beyond the anti-theft work, Magnus contributed to the broader quality and maintainability of the app, building UI components against the company’s internal design system and improving code structure through architectural refactoring and shared Kotlin Multiplatform modules.
